	Attention the GPS locator including in this smart phone is not a true GPS device. This smart phone supports cell-based positioning - first used in 911 services- supported by some carriers rather than true global, satellite-based positioning. To use this smartphone for GPS navigation, you will need to use it coupled with a real GPS unit.

GPS device is optional to run GPS Pilot applications. Indeed, GPS Pilot software can be used as a digital hand held atlas with no GPS navigation assistance dimension i.e with no GPS information emitted by satellites such as altitude, speed, heading, current position, etc...

For on-line cartography access: a wireless connectivity or PC-Palm gateway

To download on-line geo-coded you need to have an internet connectivity.

On the move, a wireless internet connectivity is required: use a smart phone, or connect your PDA to your cellular phone via Blue tooth, infrared, or cable.

From home, you can also use land modem, or PC-Palm internet gateway (such as Mocha W32 PPP or Softick PPP)

Internet connectivity is optional to run GPS Pilot applications – except TripPilot-: you only need it if you wish to download maps from the net. Indeed, GPS Pilot applications allow to convert, load and display digital or scanned maps on your PDA.
