User Interface: Preferences

Map views

The Preferences settings can be defined differently for each map view. Located on the top-right corner of the Preferences screen, you can select the reference view : click on squared icon to toggle the map view between 1 and 2

Units

GPS Pilot support major international units:

• Speed and Distance are supported in miles, kilometers, or nautical miles.
• Altitude in meters or feet.
• Latitude/longitude can be read and entered in degree, minutes, seconds ( N/S/W/E dd°mm'ss'' ) or in Degrees and decimals (+/- dd.dddd) formats.
   

Map details

Choose the level of details of your maps by setting which POIs category you wish to have displayed on maps: Landmark, City, Airport, NavAid. The locations can also be printed on an iconic or a textual representation. These options are specific to each map view.
 

Display

Select generic details of maps between map only, map & details, details only and no map, no details. These options are specific to each map view.

Autozoom

Activate the autozoom feature to enable the current view to display automatically the most detailed map of the current area

Track color

Select the color of current recording track, or current flight plan.
 

Track precision

Change the recording precision for capturing tracks from every xx seconds to every xx hours.
 

Backup DB

The backup check box, permits to save a copy of your databases (POIs, Tracks and Maps) on the desktop during the Hot Sync process.
Backed-up database can be then restored on the Palm device, and also be used with other desktop applications.
 

InetLib

If your Palm OS supports the InetLib library, this option is displayed. Check this option to optimise internet connection.
